GNN Ministries

Enriching Our Community

The various ministries in Haiti play a pivotal role in uplifting the community by addressing both immediate and long-term needs. Feed their Bellies provides essential nourishment, ensuring that children and families do not go hungry, while our Union Shop supports economic empowerment through sustainable commerce. Our Soccer Ministry fosters youth engagement and teamwork, the Library Ministry enhances education and literacy, the Trade Center Ministry offers vocational training for self-sufficiency, and our Discipleship Program nurtures spiritual growth and community solidarity. Each ministry works in harmony to build a more resilient and thriving community.

Feed Their Bellies

Raising children is so much more than passing in school. It takes a village and we are trying our best to let these kids know we are on their team and that we want them to succeed. Maritha and Esterline faithfully cook and feed about 120 students with a hot meal once a week.

The Union Shop

The Union Shop is comprised of 11 men under the leadership of Clintonn. This dedicated team collaborates on various woodworking projects for GNN’s other ministries as well as for local clients. Alongside honing their skills and completing tasks, they also gather each morning to study the Bible together.

The Soccer Ministry

The soccer ministry is overseen by Wesly and Severe. Students enrolled in our tutoring program have the chance to join our soccer club, which practices every Saturday. While they occasionally compete against other local teams, we are actively promoting the formation of additional teams to increase their opportunities for games. Additionally, our soccer ministry organizes our annual community cleanup day.

The Library Ministry

Haiti faces a challenging average literacy rate of 60%, significantly lower than the 92% found in other Latin American nations. Only half of the children in Haiti are enrolled in school, and almost two-thirds of these students leave before reaching the sixth grade. Our library ministry is dedicated to providing students with the academic support they need to excel in their homework. Furthermore, we allocate time for learning important Bible verses and applying them to everyday life. Our goal is to inspire children to embrace both Jesus and the joy of learning!

The Trade Center

Over two-thirds of Haiti’s labor force lacks consistent employment, and the country is home to over 200 active gangs. For many, the best opportunity to secure a sustainable job for themselves and their families lies in acquiring a trade or skill. This is the motivation behind the establishment of our trade center ministry. We are committed to promoting the learning of honest trades alongside the teachings of the Gospel. Currently, we offer classes in electricity, plumbing, carpentry, drivers ed, French, ceramic tiling, and building construction. We are truly inspired by the overwhelming enthusiasm from our community members who are eager to develop their skills in a spiritually enriching and challenging environment.

Discipleship Ministry

This is the ministry we never anticipated. It started with mentoring young men in our home as they move toward independence. Currently, we have five young men residing with us, each with a unique story that led them to join our family. Our aim is to guide them in becoming men of God and pursuing His calling in their lives. During their time with us, they hold responsibilities within the house, ministry, and church.
